Austin Yoder Scholarship fundraiser will be Sept . 22

Coshocton County Youth Leadership participants are asked to do a pay-it-forward project . When Wade Thompson learned this , something for Austin Yoder was the first thing he thought of .
“ I have been wanting to do this for a while because me and Austin were friends at school . Ever since he passed away , the friend group hasn ’ t been the same . All of us think about him all the time , and I wanted to do something so he won ’ t be forgotten . I talked to his mom , and she said I could do this ,” Thompson said .
The Austin Yoder Memorial Scholarship chicken dinner will be held Sunday , Sept . 22 from 11 a . m . to 3 p . m . or until sold out at the Ridgewood Food Stand at the Coshocton County Fairgrounds . The meal includes half a chicken ,

homemade noodles , mashed potatoes and green beans . All donations will go to the scholarship fund .
The dinner is two months before the first anniversary of Yoder ’ s death . “ I felt like it would be too hard to do ( closer to the anniversary ), so I would like to continue doing this every year the weekend before the fair starts ,” said Thompson , who is a junior at Ridgewood High School .

“ Austin was an amazing friend , and we still don ’ t know how the fair will go this year . We all really miss him ,” Thompson said .
