OhioMeansJobs Coshocton County regularly hosts onsite hiring events at the Lake Park Pavilion .

This year Taylor Smith , coordinator with OMJ , said , “ We are having our annual employment expo here . We have about 45 employers here to talk with the community to see if they can get some potential employees . We have employers from manufacturing to healthcare and everything in between . As long as Coshocton County has a demand for employees , we will keep having these events . Some other counties are here also .”

Lynn Jacobs , who also is with OhioMeansJobs Coshocton County , was set up at the front door to help people register .

“ Our resource guide is

one of the most popular things here with information for job seekers , with names of a lot of our major businesses in Coshocton County . When the unemployment rate was higher , we would normally have 350 , more or less . With this big expo , we expect 175-200 today ,” Jacobs said . “ The people that come in today are going to have a great opportunity to talk to the human resource people .

“ It is a lot better than trying to find a job by getting on the computer and filling out a job application to have some artificial intelligence throwing you out because you didn ’ t answer a question quite the way they want it . So they get to shake hands with the human resources people . Businesses are looking for people , and frankly , a lot of people get hired the day of the event , so there is an

Ashley Brennan from Fanatics in Frazeysburg said , “ We are giving away a ton of swag , pizza cutters , stress balls , and we will be offering jobs for night shift in the middle

of October , part-time and full-time nights . From Coshocton it is about 20 minutes west on 16 in the old Longaberger shipping building . Some people like the seasonal work . It is a clean facility . It is easy ,

but it is work . It ’ s picking orders , packing , and we do a lot of fun things with the employees too .”

Mystic Carroll , dietary manager of Altercare in Coshocton , said , “ We are here today recruiting

LPNs , RNs and STNAs , any willing , friendly bodies that would like to work with elders at our residence on Otsego Avenue in Coshocton . We care for elderly people that come in for rehabilitation from an injury . We do a lot with the community .”
