On November 5 th , this year we will be voting on a 2.2 million levy to continue WEEKLY TRASH COLLECTION SERVICE
for residents in Franklin Township and the Village of Conesville
another five ( 5 ) years , i . e . 1 / 1 / 25 - 12 / 31 / 29
As you may remember , we voters approved our current five-year contract in November 2019 , which is ending this year . When the levy was approved , we Franklin Township Board of Trustees then had an open bidding process to award the contract which was awarded to Kimble Inc . as they were the lowest priced and best prepared bidder .
Our five-year levy expires at the end of this year , and we must again pass a levy to continue the weekly trash collection service . Contingent upon your support for the levy , we Trustees again publicly advertised for bids for the weekly service and received bids from Rumpke Waste and Recycling , Waste Management Inc ., and Kimble Inc . The lowest / best priced service from each of these three large companies was Kimble Inc . and if you pass the levy on November 5th , they will continue to provide us weekly trash collection service without interruption .
How much will the 2.2 million levy cost us as homeowners ?
This depends upon your property valuation but , for example , a $ 100,000 Co . Auditor assessed property owner would pay $ 79 per year for the service . Whereas , if individual homeowners attempted to purchase their own weekly service from Kimble Inc . the cost would be $ 286.32 for 2025 .
The 2.2 million trash levy is actually a good value for us when compared to not having weekly trash collection or attempting to pay for it individually .
We Franklin Township Trustees and Fiscal Officer strongly advise you to vote FOR the trash levy at the general election on November 5 . Together , let ’ s keep our community clean .
Community meetings will be held Sept . 23 , and Oct . 9th at the FCV Fire Station at 6:30 p . m . each evening to discuss the levy and answer questions .
