Baked goods auction draws a crowd at the fair

The Rotary Pavilion was full Friday , Sept . 30 for the baked goods auction at the Coshocton County Fair . Items auctioned off included all of the baked goods classes that were judged earlier in the day . All ribbon winners were auctioned off by Greg Rice .
Cakes , muffins , breads , cookies and candy were for sale , and the competition was steep for some of the items . All proceeds from the auction are split between the person who made the food and the art hall to be used for improvements in the

Terri Lewis and her daughter , Mindi Duncan , have been entering baked items for about four years . Lewis was at the auction to see how much each of their ribbon-winning treats sold for .
“ We have each won a Best of Show before but never in the same year . This year we have three Best of Show between us ,” Lewis said .
Lewis said it ’ s fun competing against her daughter . “ We used to bake everything at her house ,

Lewis is excited about how well she and Duncan placed this year . Lewis had 14 ribbon-winning items in the auction including her Best of Show zucchini bread and Best of Show dinner rolls . Duncan earned a Best of Show for her banana bread and had nine items in the auction .
“ Some of the classes we enter are the same , but not all ,” Lewis said .
She also said she watched the judging of the baked foods on Friday morning . “ It ’ s fun to watch .”
Echoing Hills welcomes Snyder
Echoing Hills welcomed Mark Snyder as executive vice president / chief financial officer .
In preparation for John Swanson ’ s retirement in 2023 , Echoing Hills hired Snyder . He began his responsibilities on Sept . 6 and will oversee the fiscal and asset management of the organization , along with information technology .
“ We are very excited to welcome Mark to Echoing Hills and to the executive leadership team ,” said Tim Neville , president and CEO of Echoing Hills . “ His wealth of experience , combined with his servant ’ s heart , makes him the ideal fit for the role .”
Snyder brings more than 25 years of professional experience to his new role . Spending his entire career in finance , Snyder has served in roles such as financial analyst , plant controller , director , chief financial officer and principal .
“ I look forward to using my experience to help Echoing Hills continue to grow ,” Snyder said . “ My role is to help the organization to be good stewards of the funds entrusted to us . I am eager to do that while helping others make sense of often confusing financial information .”
Echoing Hills is a 501 ( c )( 3 ) nonprofit organization based out of Warsaw . Echoing Hills provides residential , educational , recreational and adult service programs
