Try these special treats for October gatherings
The crisp air of fall fills us with happy thoughts of pumpkinflavored goodies , steaming lattes , bonfires and of course my all-time favorite , a great excuse to eat chocolate . While I love the pumpkin spice flavored items offered right now , it isn ’ t that hard to make your own pumpkin spice lattes . This recipe is particularly easy because you don ’ t need a frothing device to make the delicious foam .
Heat up some milk in the microwave , add in the other ingredients and whisk it after it is warm . Instant coffee would work for this recipe too . I included a Frappuccino version of this if you need something cool and creamy that will fill you with the taste of the season .
If you ’ re looking for something snacky in the spirit of the season , try Autumn Snack Mix , a fun blend of popcorn and pretzels and candy , drizzled with chocolate . How can this be bad at any level ? Bring this to a party and this will be the first thing that ’ s eaten .
Consider making some cute owls with pretzels and Oreos . They are so cute with their big eyes . They are sure to be a fun treat for kids , but I imagine adults will eat these too
Ṗut apples in anything and I immediately smile . These Apple Dumplitos — called this because they are made with slices of apple rather than a whole — will melt in your mouth . Make them for a special breakfast or for dessert . Or serve them as a snack . Everyone is sure to love them .
PUMPKIN SPICE LATTE 1 cup milk 2 tablespoons pumpkin puree 1 / 3 cup condensed milk or regular milk ( sweeten to taste ) 1 teaspoon maple syrup 1 / 4 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice 1 / 4 teaspoon pure vanilla extract 1 / 4 cup hot espresso or strong brewed coffee Whipped cream
Put the milk , pumpkin puree , sugar , pumpkin pie spice and vanilla in a medium bowl that is microwave safe . Cover with plastic wrap and vent with a small hole . Microwave until the milk is hot , 1-2 minutes . Whisk vigorously until the milk mixture is foamy , about 30 seconds . Pour the espresso or coffee into a large mug , then add the foamed milk . Top with whipped cream . Take a sip and appreciate the season .
PUMPKIN SPICE FRAPPUCCINO 1 / 3 cup pumpkin puree 1 cup ice 3 / 4 cup condensed milk 1 teaspoon maple syrup 1 / 2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Whipped cream 1 / 4 cup strong brewed coffee cooled to room temperature

chips , melted 1 / 2 cup candy pumpkins or candy corn 1 / 2 cup yellow , orange and chocolate M & M ’ s 2 teaspoons orange and black sprinkles
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper . Place a single layer of popcorn and pretzels on the baking sheet . Put melted chocolates in separate Ziploc bags and snip off the corners . Top with sprinkles . Freeze or refrigerate until chocolate is firm for 20 minutes . Break into pieces and serve . Be sure to grab some for yourself before you put this out .
