Muskingum Watershed is now seeking public input for tributary
The Muskingum River Watershed provides hundreds of miles of scenic rivers and streams that are home to many paddling getaways . The watershed includes major tributaries such as the Mohican , Kokosing , Tuscarawas , Muskingum and Walhonding rivers . The first four rivers are designated state water trails through the Ohio Department of Natural Resources ’ Water Trail Program , providing recreational paddling access , amenities and paddling safety information for visitors along the river .
The Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District is seeking public input regarding designation of the final major tributary within the Muskingum Watershed , the Walhonding River . This 23.5-mile river is formed by the confluence of the Mohican and Kokosing rivers . After
Central Ohio Technical College hosted the Continuing Sonography Education Conference on Oct . 12 . Led by the diagnostic medical sonography technology program , this event brought together sonographers , alumni , radiology managers , students and clinical partners from across Central Ohio for a day of professional growth and collaboration .
The conference was sponsored by Licking Memorial Health Systems , GE Healthcare , Probo Medical and Philips Healthcare .
The event featured nine guest speakers who shared their knowledge , insight and techniques , contributing to the advancement of both the local community and the sonography profession .
The conference highlighted the importance of staying up to date with rapid advancements in healthcare technology . As medical advancements and techniques evolve , sonographers must maintain current knowledge and skills to ensure the highest quality of patient care .
“ We are committed to providing education that propels the healthcare industry forward ,” said DMS Program Director Melinda Brillhart , EdD . “ By bringing together the local ultrasound community , we collaborated on techniques to enhance patient care and
flowing through Coshocton County , it joins the Tuscarawas River , near the city of Coshocton , creating the Muskingum River .
A short survey can be completed at www . MWCD . org / WalhondingRiver , and the information gathered will assist the designation process , which will involve the partnership of many agencies including organizations providing information and land management .
The Water Trail Program is administered by ODNR Division of Parks and Watercraft . Partnering agencies include MWCD , U . S . Army Corps of Engineers , City of Coshocton , Coshocton County Park District , Knox County Park District , Village of Warsaw , Village of Nellie , Roscoe Village Foundation , Friends of the Coshocton County Parks , Coshocton County Commissioners and Engineers , Coshocton Port Authority , Our Town Coshocton , Coshocton CVB , Coshocton Chamber of Commerce , and ODNR Division of Wildlife , Parks and Watercraft .
If designated , the Walhonding River will join the Muskingum Watershed system of water trails , which would create a designated river system totaling over 300 miles .
