CHS volleyball starts tournament play
The Coshocton Redskins volleyball team lost to host River View on Volley 4 the Cure night . The scores were 15-25 , 25-21 , 21-25 and 12-25 .
The offensive leaders for Coshocton were Lindsay Bryant and Ella Bible each with eight kills . Hailey Helter added seven , and Kindall Shaw chipped in five . Jalynn West dished out 23 assists .
Defensively , Helter led the ‘ Skins in digs with 17 while Miyah Davis had 15 and Kindall Shaw had 14 .
Lindsay Bryant and Belle Miller each served up two aces .
In the JV contest , the Redskins won in thrilling fashion : falling in the first set , then fighting back to take the next two . The scores were 22-25 , 26-24 and 25-23 .
Jaiden Arnold led the ‘ Skins with seven kills and seven aces .
Savanna Bartlett had six kills while Addy Gordon and Destiny Danielek each had five .
The JV ‘ Skins finished the year at 10-11 overall and 7-9 in the MVL .
On Oct . 19 at home , the Coshocton Redskins volleyball team began its 2020 tournament trail by hosting Bellaire in the first round of the sectional tournament .
The ‘ Skins won in a straight-sets victory by the scores of 25-11 , 25-11 and 25-17 .
It was a total team effort as all members of the team saw action and contributed during the contest .
Offensively , eight different players registered kills for the Redskins . Leading the attack was Lindsay Bryant with seven kills , Kindall Shaw with six and Belle Miller with three .
Spreading the offense around was sophomore setter , Jalynn West , who recorded 20 assists .
On defense it was 10 Redskins finding the stat column with at least one dig . Libero Miyah Davis led the way with 14 while Hailey Helter added 12 .
At the net Ella Bible and Savanna Bartlett each recorded a stuff block .
Ridgewood
RHS wins in showcase
Ridgewood and Strasburg were both runners up in the IVC South and IVC North leagues .
The Generals defeated Strasburg in the IVC Showcase by scores of 25-16 , 25-12 and 25-20 .
Stats were Hannah Maust , 16 kills , two blocks , nine digs , four points and one ace ; Madisyn Colvin , seven kills , 10 digs , one block , eight points and four aces ; Ella Matusik , 33 assists , three kills , four digs , one block and four points ; Paige Slusser , seven kills , seven digs , three points and one ace ; Karissa Gress , five kills , three digs , two blocks and three points ; Ashley Green , three kills , seven digs , five points and two aces ; Lindsay Griffith , two digs , six points and two aces ; and Kelley Masloski , one kill , one block and two digs .
Ridgewood then defeated Sandy Valley at home by scores of 25-18 , 25-11 and 25-14 .
The Generals were led by Madisyn Colvin , eight kills , 12 digs , one block , three points and three aces ; Karissa Gress , seven kills , three blocks , one dig , seven points and one ace ; Hannah Maust , six kills , four digs , one block and five points ; Ella Matusik , 27 assists , four kills , two digs , four points and two aces ; Paige Slusser , six kills , two digs , one block , four points and one ace ; Ashley Green , one kill , two digs , 10 points and two aces ; and Lindsay Griffith , six digs .
River View
RVHS downs St . Clairsville
Eleventh-seed River View volleyball won its sectional tournament match on Oct . 21 at St . Clairsville against the ninthseed host in three sets , 25-20 , 25-18 , 25-21 .
Leading the way for the Lady Bears were Kayla Dulgar with 27 assists , Cayla Shrimplin with 17 digs , Ki Stamper with 10 kills , and Carolyn Cox , Ashlyn Bible and Ashley Newell with five kills each . Newell added two blocks , and Stamper added four aces .
