Conesville staff making plans to remember co-worker

By Josie Sellers
The late Shari A . Nagy made a big impact on Conesville Elementary School in the short amount of time she was there .
“ She was the kind of person who cared about everybody ,” said Jessica Lonsinger , who taught with Nagy at Conesville . “ If a kid was having a bad day , she invited them to
have lunch in her room , even though it was her planning time , just so she could make sure they had a good day . Manners , saying thank you and holding doors open were important to her . She would always write the sweetest personal notes to the kids every year and had a special Christmas project . They ’ d each pick a student to write compliments or nice things about , and then the kids would get them at Christmas .”

was kind and fun and cared about them .”
Kelly Endsley-Tabor , another member of Conesville ’ s fourth-grade team , said Nagy also was known for putting together a book highlighting the students ’ year .
“ Not everyone could afford a yearbook , so she made these ,” Lonsinger said . “ She was always making sure no one was left out .”
Lonsinger and Endsley-Tabor are making sure Nagy ’ s memory will live on .
“ Shari just cared so much ,” Endsley-Tabor said . “ She was compassionate and had a heart of gold . She was very upbeat and always happy . She had the most contagious smile .”
Nagy passed away in June 2020 after a battle with leukemia . She started at Conesville after graduating from college with the 2016- 17 school year being her first there .
Lonsinger and Endsley- Tabor launched a gofundme . com page to help raise funds to create a Little Free Library in memory of Nagy . They have already raised the initial funds to start the library and hope to have it set up in November . It will be placed near the village playground by the school , and people will be welcome to take a book and / or leave a book .
“ We wanted to do something for her that would continue to give back to kids and the community ,” Lonsinger said .
Anyone wanting to donate books is welcome to contact the school . Endsley-
