Ministers and Christians from various denominations came together on Sept . 26 for what was known as a National Day of Prayer and Repentance .

In Washington , D . C ., Franklin Graham , son of the late Billy Graham , was joined by Vice President Mike Pence , singer / song writer Michael W . Smith , Dr . Ben Carson , Alveda King and many others while passersby saw the lawn of the court square on Main Street in downtown Coshocton covered with lawn chairs and people .

In Coshocton live worship music provided by the worship team from New Life Ministries filled the streets , and heartfelt words were spoken by area ministers .

of Set Free Community Church , spoke on reconciliation and urged those in attendance to come back to their first love , God . Pastor of New Life Ministries , Mark Granger , shared the need for Christians to get back to Jesus as he spoke about restoration .

“ Today , America is to the New Testament what Israel was to the Old Testament ,” said Mike

Farley , one of the worship leaders . “ If you obey God ’ s word , you cannot go wrong . You will not go wrong .”

“ It ’ s not about an organization ; it ’ s about Jesus ,” said Joe Sanders , pastor of First Baptist Church . “ All you need is the grace of Jesus .”

Most of the speakers spoke about how change , reconciliation , restoration and revival

all begin in each individual ’ s heart .

Kelly Treat , the other worship leader for the prayer event , prayed for a true change of heart to take place in Christians everywhere . As she led the group in worship , Treat said , “ Revive us . Let revival sweep across the nation .”

“ The prayer that we had Saturday ( Sept . 26 ) was so amazing and uplifting . It was one of the few times in my life that I saw pastors get together , drop their denominations , and just lift up their hearts and voices to God in prayer and praise and a time when the public was so immersed in what was going on that they stayed way past dark and very few went home until it was over ,” said Mark Aaron , who helped coordinate the event .
