New canal royalty crowned

Ava Rauh-Hill is looking forward to her new adventure as the Coshocton Canal queen .
“ This is my first pageant ,” she said . “ I thought it sounded fun . I ’ m looking forward to traveling and making new friends .”
Rauh-Hill was crowned during the canal queen and princess contest held Oct . 19 during the Apple Butter Stirrin ’ Festival held in Roscoe Village .
“ I ’ m excited , but I ’ m also shocked I won ,” she said . “ I messed up my entire speech . I had it all scrambled . I didn ’ t even think I ’ d get first attendant .”
Princess Ella Lawson also had some issues with her speech but took it as a lesson to share with others .
“ I forgot some , but if you mess up , you just have to keep doing your best ,” she said .
This will be Lawson ’ s sixth year on the court .
“ I ’ m very grateful and honored ,” she said . “ I didn ’ t think I was going to win . Ruby was really great competition .”
Lawson was referring to Ruby Mullett , who will serve as her first attendant . Princess second attendant is Luna Norman , and princess third attendant is Alayna Brown .
The queen first attendant is Jamie Lassen , and the queen second attendant is Regan Foster . Junior queen is Emilia Lonsinger . Her first attendant is Raven Casey , and her second attendant is Kaidee Patterson .
Outgoing Queen Bri Fink and Princess Kenzie Roach both had advice to share with the new court during the royalty luncheon on Oct . 20 in the visitors center at Roscoe Village .
“ Cherish every moment because it goes fast ,” Roach said .

2023 Queen Bri Fink all the queens who served with her and helped her create the standards she held herself to .
“ Be confident , have fun and be as outgoing as you can ,” Fink said . “ I believe in every single one of you .”
After the luncheon , visiting festival royalty and guests were invited to participate in the Mayor ’ s Promenade . Leading the group to the main stage in Roscoe Village was Coshocton City Mayor Mark Mills .
“ These girls are going to do big things ,” Mills said . “ They are learning to stand up in front of people , and they are keeping our history alive and teaching others about Roscoe .”
