Organ donation linked to hunting , fishing licenses

The House Public Health Policy Committee passed House Bill 256 , which will require the Ohio Department of Natural Resources to inquire about organ donation when someone registers for a hunting or fishing license . The bill is joint sponsored by State Reps . Rodney Creech ( R-West Alexandria ) and Kevin Miller ( R-Newark ).
Ohio has more than 2,700 registered individuals waiting for an organ transplant procedure .
House Bill 256 aims to help meet the demand in Ohio for organ transplants by linking the process of registering as an organ donor to hunting and fishing license applications .

The Roscoe Village Foundation will host the annual Christmas Crafters Event on Saturday , Dec . 9 from 11 a . m . to 5 p . m . Crafters in attendance at the event will have handcrafted pottery and jewelry pieces , mixed media art , homemade baked goods , handwoven rag rugs , scarves , shawls , ponchos , hand-painted Christmas bulbs and more . The craft show will take place in the Lock Landing and Ivy Room on the first and second floors of the Roscoe Village Visitor Center .
