If you want homemade noodles from Emmanuel Lutheran Church , you better be first in line at the annual bazaar .
“ Within 15 minutes of opening , we are sold out ,” Karen Bowman said .
Linda Storm said people are usually waiting at the door .
“ The recipe we use was my mother ’ s ,” she said . “ We ’ ve probably been making the noodles for at least 30 years now I would guess .”
Bowman recently took over the noodle-making process from Storm .
“ We started a new system last year and cut our time for making the noodles in half ,” Bowman said . “ We can make eight batches in four to five hours .”

Kno-Ho-Co set to offer no-cost women ’ s health exams / mammograms
Breast and cervical cancer are largely preventable when detected early , yet there are thousands of women in Appalachian Ohio who have not enrolled in no-cost testing .
Kno-Ho-Co-Ashland Health Services has been working with the Breast and Cervical Cancer Project over the past 10 years to improve the health of people residing in the region . As a BCCP Provider of services , Kno-Ho-Co-Ashland Health Services has provided over 200 nocost breast and cervical cancer screenings to eligible women at the health clinic locations .
In addition to providing direct care , in June 2022 , Kno-Ho- Co-Ashland Health Services received a grant to fund community health workers . The goal is to increase the number of referrals and enrollment for breast and cervical cancer screenings , specifically targeting Coshocton and Holmes counties . The new grant will provide the opportunity for the community health workers to actively increase enrollment into the program by working directly with area agencies and local healthcare providers to bring awareness of BCCP and eligibility criteria .
According to the Ohio Department of Health , all women are at some risk of breast cancer . The risk increases with age , and though many believe family history is the leading precursor to developing breast cancer , studies show most people

diagnosed do not have a family history of breast cancer . The community health workers ’ role is to educate and connect people to the resources BCCP provides in order to reduce the number of people diagnosed too late .
