Gibson offers free sports physicals in Coshocton
The Genesis Orthopedic Group will offer free sports physicals for student-athletes from Monday , June 3 through Friday , June 28 in Coshocton . The physicals will be conducted at the office of Clayton Gibson , M . D ., orthopedic surgeon with the Genesis Orthopedic Group , at 23599 Airport Road , Suite B , Coshocton .
Appointments are required and can be scheduled by calling 740- 722-9572 . A parent or guardian must accompany minors . Student-athletes need to bring the signed Ohio High School Athletic Association form to the appointment .

Coshocton native gets OSU spotlight for Nurses Week
Elizabeth Anne Kinkade Arthur was spotlighted by OSU during Nurses Week . She is the daughter of Sally and Glenn Kinkade of Coshocton . Arthur is a nurse scientist at The James . Her journey there began in late 2003 as a new nurse practitioner . She started in palliative care , then transitioned to inpatient medical oncology , where she grew to be the Lead APP . She achieved AOCNP certification and received the Nursing Clinical
Excellence Award . Arthur then transitioned to the role of APP quality manager while pursuing her Ph . D . in Nursing . She currently serves as a nurse scientist , conducting groundbreaking research to improve patient outcomes at The James .
“ I am beyond proud to be a nurse at The James ,” Arthur said . “ Even though I don ’ t practice at the bedside anymore , I draw inspiration for my research from James nurses , our patients and the families we serve .”
Ashcraft inducted into honor society
Lindsey Ashcraft of Coshocton was inducted May 10 into Ohio Wesleyan University ’ s chapter of Phi Beta Kappa , the nation ’ s oldest academic honor society . The historic organization counts 17 U . S . presidents , 42 Supreme Court justices and more than 150 Nobel laureates among its members .
Nationwide , only 10 % of all U . S . colleges and universities have Phi Beta Kappa chapters , and each of the 293 chapters selects only 10 % of its graduates annually to join through a merit-based invitation process .
Based in Washington , D . C ., Phi Beta Kappa was founded in 1776 , and its name originated from the motto “ Love of learning is the guide of life .” Ohio Wesleyan ’ s Eta Chapter was founded in 1907 .
