Coshocton County awarded $ 6.7 million grant from state

Coshocton County was awarded $ 6.7 million by Gov . Mike DeWine , Lt . Gov . Jon Husted , Governor ’ s Office of Appalachia Director John Carey and Ohio Department of Development Director Lydia Mihalik . This is funding from the Appalachian Community Grant Program .
The commissioners ’ office worked collaboratively with the City of Coshocton , the Coshocton Port Authority , CDC of Ohio and OMEGA to plan and review multiple transformational projects over the course of 18 months . Together they created an application to help revitalize and transform Coshocton . This application included plans to grow and improve many projects such as the City of Coshocton ’ s Main Street Revitalization , Skip ’ s Landing , the former Past Time Theatre on Main Street and several others . While all of these were included in the application , the funds that were awarded were targeted for
Skip ’ s Landing .
Coshocton County will make infrastructure improvements at the Skip ’ s Landing riverfront site including lighting , multi-use paths , expanded parking , relocation of the boat ramp , a nature walk , green space , a permanent structure for the farmers market and a play area .
These transformations would not be possible without these grant programs and collaborative efforts of both public and private parties .
