New pet store opens in Downtown Coshocton

The Crystal Aquarium opened its doors on April 11 at 531 Main St . in Coshocton . Owner Robert Bush is excited to share his love of animals with the community .
“ My brother , Jeremy , took aquariums in 4-H when I was young , and I fell in love with them . Aquariums and fish are a meditation for me , to be honest . It has a calming affect when there ’ s all the noise in the background ,” Bush said .
His love of reptiles came later when he met a new friend in Virginia .

Blue Ridge 4-H Club discusses its projects
The Blue Ridge 4-H Club held a meeting on April 10 at the Bintz family farm . Roll call was a place you would like to visit .
Old business was discussed such as fundraisers for 2022 , community service projects such as cleaning up cemeteries and putting out flags to honor veterans on Memorial Day , and 2022 4-H enrollments .
The club thanked the
Ridgewood General store for allowing members to do a window display for 4-H Week .
The next meeting will be Sunday , May 15 at the Bintz farm .

The problem came about that I have all of these fish and reptiles living in our house and we had to go to Zanesville at least once a week to buy a thousand crickets . Bush said his pets , especially the fish , helped him with his depression .
Opening the store is a huge help to others in the area who were traveling out of town for crickets for their pets .
“ We have a wide variety of fresh-water fish , reptiles and crystals . We have some supplies for the animals , and we buy used tanks from people that are no longer in the hobby so we can sell good equipment for a fair price . We will also take in rescue animals or surrenders that owners
can no longer care for or want ,” Bush said .
The Crystal Aquarium also has different kinds of bearded dragons , geckos and scorpions .
“ We have all sizes of feeders — crickets , mice , roaches , rats and worms . Every week we plan on getting more and more in the store . I can special order pets if you don ’ t see what you want in the store ,” Bush said .
