Celebrating a career

Candice Mullen was surprised with presents and cake on April 27 to celebrate her retirement from Lafayette Pointe Nursing & Rehabilitation Center .
Mullen , the dietary manager , retired after almost 44 years of employment there . She started as a volunteer and then became an employee right after graduating from Ridgewood High School . Her mother was a nurse at the facility , her sister currently works there and their father is a resident .
“ I ’ m going to miss the residents ,” Mullen said . “ They are like extended family . It ’ s hard not to fall in love with them .”
Administrator Jay Olinger was very appreciative of her dedication
