The Linton Township Trustees
are asking that all decorations
be removed from the
Plainfield Cemetery by April 1st
so that the township staff may
prepare for summer mowing
and trimming of the cemetery.
The 2019 Linton Township Financial
summaries have been completed
and can be examined if desired
by contacting the

Carma Overholt

99, a lifelong resident of
C o sho c t on , Oh io, we nt
home to be with her Heav-
enly Father on March 11,
2020. She was born in rural
Coshocton on February 7,
1921, the daughter of Hazel
Thompkins and Ira Miller.
Carma lived most of her life
in the same house in which
she was born.
Carma graduated from
Coshocton Nursing School
i n 1942 e a r n i ng a n R N
degree. She was employed
as a nu rse at Coshocton
Hospital, did private duty
nursing, and as a nurse at
the former General Elec-
tric Plant. She married her
beloved husband, Owen
Overholt, in 1952. Owen

served proudly in WW II.
Together they had one child,
Brent Overholt.
Carma was a longstand-
ing member of St. Paul’s
L u t h e r a n C h u r c h , n ow
known as the Emmanuel
Lutheran Church. Carma is
survived by her son Brent
Overholt (Linda), nephews,
many cousins and Godchil-
dren. She also leaves her
dearly loved kitties, Blackie
and Tom. She was preceded
in death by her parents, hus-
band and brother, Ira Miller
Jr., who gave his life while
serving in WW II.
A special “Thank you”
goes to her wonderful care-
givers; Darlene, Gail, Bren-
da, Gloria, Libby, Nancy,
Rusty, and Shelly. A “Thank
you” is also extended to her
kind neighbors, the Sturtz
family, the Boyer family and
the Jacobs family for all their
help throughout the years.
Carma believed in and
unselfishly lived a life of
service to others. She will
be greatly missed by all who
knew and loved her.

with Pastor Bryan Kittner
officiating. Burial followed
at the St. Paul’s Lutheran
Cemetery.

Museum in Roscoe closed to public
The health and safety
of Johnson-Humrickhouse
Museum staff and visitors
is the museum’s first pri-
ority. As part of the inter-
national effort to curb the
spread of the coronavirus
(COVID-19), JHM will be
closed to the public until
f u r t her not ice. A ll pro -
grams until May are can-
celled.
In addition to this, due to
the CDC’s orders regarding
gathering of large groups,
the museum will be post-
poning What Women Want
to Sat u rday, Ju ne 20. If

Kent Tusc continuing remotely
In accordance with Ohio Gov. Mike
DeWine’s recommendations, Kent State
University at Tuscarawas reduced on-
campus operations until further notice.
Day-to-day business operations of
the campus will continue remotely with
limited functions remaining on campus.
“These are new and challenging times
for all,” said Dr. Bradley Bielski, dean
and administrative officer of Kent State
Tuscarawas. “Our top priorities continue
to be the health, safety and educational
needs of our students. Many Tuscarawas
campus resources are available electroni-
cally to our students who are now using
remote instruction.”

Tuscarawas include a one-stop elec-
tronic shop for answering students’
questions through email at InfoTusc@
kent.edu. Advising and tutoring needs
also are being met electronically, as well
as library resources and help from the

United Way starts emergency fund

an emergency-relief fund
to assist other nonprof it
organizations lending aid
to victims of the current
COVID-19 pandemic.
Social-service nonprof-
its, which make up the core
of the community safety
net, provide for many basic
need s i nclud i ng food ,
clothing and shelter. The
fund created will provide
grants to local nonprofits
with emergency expenses
related to the COVID-19
virus. This fund will not
directly support individu-
als but rather nonprof its
that support individuals.
