Annual Tiverton Institute held

Each year the Tiverton Institute offers music , baking contests and speakers on a wide range of topics . One of the many speakers this year was Chuck Ellis from Pearl Valley Cheese who shared information about the company and its award winning products . The annual event was held March 5-6 in the Grange Hall at the corner of County Road 20 and State Route 205 .

Coshocton City Schools will have day care , preschool classes in 25-26

Starting with the 2025-26 school year , Coshocton City Schools will begin offering day care for children age 2-5 . Children must be 2 to be enrolled . Children do not have to be potty-trained for either day care or preschool , but it is strongly encouraged or for the child to be in the process of being trained .
The new preschool and day care programs will be located at Coshocton Elementary
Ridgewood Local Schools announced John Szakal , the district ’ s bus mechanic , was recognized as this year ’ s Outstanding Classified Staff by the Coalition of Rural and Appalachian Schools . He received this award at the CORAS Awards Banquet held at Eaglesticks Golf Course in Zanesville on Feb . 18 .
Szakal ’ s dedication and expertise are vital to the daily operations of Ridgewood Local Schools . In addition to ensuring the district ’ s buses are runnxing safely and efficiently , he consistently utilizes his maintenance skills to address critical building issues .

The new day care will be available Monday through Friday while preschool will be
Tuesday through Friday . There will be two half-day preschool classes and two full-day classes . Half-day classes will be from 8:30-11:45 a . m . and noon to 3:15 p . m . Full-day classes will be from 8:30 a . m . to 3:15 p . m . The day care program also will operate from 8:30 a . m . to 3:15 p . m .

Ridgewood honors John Szakal

The River View Local School District Legacy Fund is planning a gala on Saturday , March 22 at River View ’ s Luther Stover Gymnasium . The gala is presented by Frontier Power and will be from 6-8 p . m . Tickets are $ 10 per person and can be purchased at the River View Administration Building , from a committee member or at the door .
The gala will include reverse raffle prizes of $ 500 and $ 250 , hors d ’ oeuvres , performances by the River View band and choir , a 50 / 50 raffle , and silent auctions .
The River View Legacy
Fund was established in 2001 through the Coshocton Foundation , thanks to an anonymous $ 25,000 donation and an $ 184,000 donation from the Fred and Golda Shryock Estate . The fund supports River View schools and students .
So far more than $ 200,000 in scholarships and $ 80,000 in special projects have been granted . The money has been used for band equipment , materials for elementary school classes and libraries , and sending
truly commendable ,” Superintendent Mike Masloski said . “ His hard work and dedication exemplify the core values of Ridgewood Local Schools .”

The goal of the committee is to grow the Legacy Fund to have a bigger impact on River View Schools and students , especially with permanent improvements .
