Caring Essentially makes small program change

Caring Essentially for Coshocton will now be held inside Central Christian Church from 10-11:30 a . m . the third Saturday of every month . The personal care items , which are prepackaged , were previously being passed out only by driving or walking up to the church .
“ Everyone gets the same things — personal hygiene items , cleaning supplies and laundry detergent — and can come inside now to get them ,” said Kay Dunfee , director of Caring Essentially for Coshocton . “ They do not need to wear a mask , but if they want to that is fine .”
Program organizers decided to make the change since COVID has subsided some and they really missed talking to the people they help .

Eckelberry wins big bass
T h r e e R i v e r s Bassmasters held its third club tournament for 2022 with eight members competing .
The tournament was held at Wills Creek Reservoir on May 28 . Tournament results were Jim Eckelberry , first place , . 98 pounds ; David DeLong , second place , . 93 pounds ; and Eckelberry , big bass , . 98 pounds .
T h r e e R i v e r s Bassmasters is a local bass-fishing club that fishes competitive tournaments throughout the year . Membership is open to individuals age 18 and older .

Caring Essentially for Coshocton first started in 2013 at St . John ’ s Christian Church .
“ We were trying to think of something to do for the community ,” Dunfee said . “ With food stamps you can ’ t buy personal care items . We just wanted to help out the community and thought this was a pretty good way to do it .”
When St . John ’ s Christian Church closed in 2014 , the congregation moved over to Central Christian Church and continued the program .
“ I have a lot of help
from both congregations ,” Dunfee said . “ It ’ s something we both enjoy doing together . We also are very grateful to Emmanuel Lutheran Church for helping us collect items for Caring Essentially for Coshocton .”
Participants are required to bring a photo ID and proof of address .

“ Doors will open at 9:30 a . m . so people can come in and visit ,” Dunfee said . “ We are really excited to have the people back inside .”
