Roscoe Garden Elves want help bringing beds back to life
The Buckeye Garden in Roscoe Village was one of the first gardens Mrs. Montgomery developed toward the end of the restoration of Roscoe. Montgomery planned the Buckeye Garden as a threetier garden with sets of four steps leading from the
street level down to where the canal used to be. It was a showcase of many different perennials that were planted throughout Roscoe Village.
The Roscoe Garden Elves will take care of the beds to bring them back to their original beauty. Some
annuals have been planted that will be used in the village’ s Christmas decorations. The Elves meet Wednesdays from 9:30-11 a. m. at the Buckeye Garden. The next meeting will be Wednesday, June 11. Come learn about gardening techniques, cutting and
drying flowers for later use, and the different perennials planted in the garden.

Be prepared to get a little dirty and maybe even take home some plants. Bring your garden tools.
