English to lead the next artPARK street dance
The Pomerene Center for the Arts announced the return of Susan English to the artPARK to lead the third street dance of the season, English country dance, on June 27 at 7 p. m.
Think square or line dancing, only from earlier in time, channeling Jane Austen. English will be joined by Fourpence, consisting of Linda Hershberger- Kirk, cello; Stephanie Musselman, keyboard; Mike Deyo, violin; and Cid Cayhoe, penny whistle.
The POM was introduced to English several years back at an Orange Event Center( formerly Blue Ridge Grange) organized by Dr. Brandon Hill. In addition to leading / calling English country dance, English calls monthly contra and old-time square dances across the Midwest. At home in Wooster, she is in demand for weddings and barn dances, as well as homeschool, Civil War and Jane Austen balls. She led Scottish Country reels last September in the artPARK with Les Délices.
The street dances are free to attend.
