Summer Trainings

The district is excited about the training our teachers and staff are participating in this summer to help our students succeed in reading and math. We have various professional developments scheduled for teachers to continue to grow their understanding of the Science of Reading and math concepts, such as problem-solving to enable students to develop and apply problem-solving skills across the fi ve strands of number and operations, algebra, geometry, measurement, and statistics and probability. The district is also on the cutting edge of creating“ Behavior Coaches” in each building to help classroom teachers with a growing number of issues. Selected teachers will participate in various in person trainings to work on behavior ideas to bring back to the classroom. They will have completed over 90 hours of work in this area to become certifi ed as a behavior coach in each of our buildings. We appreciate our staff who have chosen to spend time this summer improving themselves and our district.

Bus drivers re deep-cleaning their buses and making a list of repairs for the mechanics to fi x. The mechanics are busy etting all of the buses ready for inspections by the Ohio State Highway Patrol. Buses are checked from top to ottom and front to back for any mechanical issues that may prevent them from receiving the approval sticker.

In the office, next year’ s routes are being planned and mapped. Newly enrolled kindergarten students are being assigned buses and graduating seniors are being removed from their assigned buses. Calendars are being coordinated and summer training is taking place. Preparations for the new school year are already being made.
As always, the department is looking to train new recruits for driving a school bus. This can be part time or full time and even seasonal. River View covers the cost of the training and is done locally on our buses. If interested, please contact the transportation offi ce at 740-824-3010.
