Ohio EPA awards grants

Fourteen governments, businesses, schools and nonprofits in Southeast Ohio are receiving $ 312,886 in Recycle Ohio Grants.
Funding will provide litter prevention and cleanup programs, education and outreach, scrap tire collections, recycling market development, and expansion of recycling processing facilities and infrastructure.
Statewide, Ohio EPA is issuing more than $ 5.9 million in grant funding to 147 recipients, with more than $ 2.9 million specifically for community and litter prevention programs.
Projects funded for program year 2025 include $ 9,600 to the Coshocton County Commissioners for tire amnesty events.

Beef quality assurance class is scheduled for Monday, Aug. 11

Beef quality assurance programs ensure beef and dairy cattle are maintained in a manner that will result in a safe and wholesome beef product for the consumer.
As of now, Wendy’ s, Tyson Foods, Cargill and multiple auctions have announced requirements that cattle they buy be from beef quality assurance certified farms. BQA certification is required of beef and dairy producers. ​ OSU Extension will hold a beef quality assurance program on Monday, Aug. 11 from 6-7:30 p. m. at the county services building, 724 S. Seventh St., Coshocton, room 145.
