The bustle of shoppers following the lead of retailers as they hearken jingles of the year ’ s best sales . The smell of the pine wreath on your door awaiting cherished family members who will soon return home for the holidays .

No , you didn ’ t take an extra-long nap — it ’ s time for Christmas in July !

This month you will find fairs , bazaars , festivals and markets all heralding this special craft-laden event . In the little town of Fresno , local vendors are donning the holiday spirit to bring you their best hand-spun , homemade wares direct from their homesteads to yours .

Market will transform the usual Saturday morning event into a wonderland of gift-worthy offerings . More than 14 local vendors will be onsite with home décor , food and more .

Whether you ’ re shopping early for Christmas , buying for yourself or just realizing you blew right past Mother ’ s and Father ’ s Days this year , there will be a little something for everyone .

If shopping makes you hungry , you aren ’ t alone . Real McCoy BBQ will be around to handle any hunger emergency that might slow you down . Emily is experienced in mitigating hunger pangs of all sizes . No appetite is too large . She has you covered .

If you ’ re wondering where to find your favorite baked goods , eggs and sourdough bread that morning , rest assured the usual farmers market friends will be right there in the mix .

Bring the kiddos . Bring your favorite furry companion . Keep them on a leash as the highway is close . The dogs , not the kiddos — but no one will judge .

This year leave the hustle and bustle of the holiday season to the pros and the box stores . They can have Black Friday , Cyber Monday , Hyper Wednesday , Spastic Sunday . We would prefer to meet you at a small-town market on a beautiful summer day in July , where you can chat with your neighbors , make new friends and remember what gift shopping should be all about .

The Fresno Farmer ’ s Market ’ s Christmas in July will be held Saturday , July 10 from 9 a . m . to 1 p . m . in the Fresno Bible Church parking lot , state Route 93 just south of town .

All the other Saturdays this summer you ’ ll still find us set up in the same location from 8-11 a . m . for our season-long farmers market . Gardens are awakening and will soon explode with grassroots wholesomeness . Before long we will bring you more green beans , zucchini , sweet corn and peaches than any one town can possibly eat . We know you are ready for that first garden-grown BLT of the summer . You bring the B — we ’ ll provide the L and T .

Canal Town Family Fun Day will return to Roscoe Village on Saturday , July 10 from 10 a . m . to 4 p . m . Kids can spend the day completing a scavenger hunt throughout the village , eating Velvet ice cream from McKenna ’ s Market , and trying their hand at atlatl throwing , crafting and activities .

There will be discounts and deals offered throughout Roscoe Village . Get $ 1 off entry to the Hay Activity Center , where kids can create and take home canal-era crafts . The Warehouse is offering half-off appetizers . The Craft Mercantile is hosting its Christmas in July sale . Additional sales can be found

throughout the rest of the shops .

The Johnson-Humrickhouse Museum is offering free admission for the day . Also being offered are free take-home crafts on a first come , first served basis , as well as atlatl throwing and bow drill necklace making .

Brad Fuller will play the guitar on the center stage . Families are invited to sit on the grassy hill and enjoy scenic Roscoe Village on a summer Saturday beginning at noon .

Girl Scouts of America will have a promotional table at the Roscoe Village Visitor Center ’ s garden with games and a micro-hike .
