Deadline approaching for grants

The deadline for unrestricted grant applications for the final meeting of the Coshocton Foundation Distribution Committee for fiscal year 2021 is Friday , Aug . 27 .
In addition to schools , churches and government agencies , community organizations with a current 501 ( c )( 3 ) nonprofit designation may submit applications for consideration
by the committee , which will meet in early September .
Information for criteria for applying organizations and a grant application may be found at www . coshoctonfoundation . org or by calling the office at 740-622-0010 .

Wilson earns an alumni scholarship

Erin M . Wilson , a 2021 graduate of River View High School and daughter of Robert and Katina Wilson of Warsaw , received a $ 1,000 Warsaw Alumni Scholarship . This award was presented to Wilson and the Ohio State University . While at the Ohio State University , she will major in music education .
During her four years at River View , she was active in the Nike Club , Leo Club , Drama Club , marching band , pit orchestra , concert choir , chamber choir and performed in solo and ensemble contests . For the past two years , her senior project included helping teach children in the River View School District about music by giving private lessons and assisting the junior high music director with band classes .
Academically , Wilson has been on the honor roll at RVHS for four years , and during her sophomore and junior years , she was on the dean ’ s list at Zane State College and

the dean ’ s list her senior year at Central Ohio Technical College .
In community activities she participated in the Cardinal Chorale , Coshocton Youth Chorale , District 10 Honors Band , Columbus Symphony Youth Orchestra , Roscoe United Methodist Church Orchestra and the OMEGA East Central Honors Orchestra .
Wilson ’ s aspirations are to become a music educator to teach children the concepts of music and assist them to better understand the value of music in their lives .

Employment opportunities include healthcare support workers , health technologists and technicians , and nurse assistants . This course fulfills the STNA prerequisite for COTC ’ s nursing program for those who wish to continue their education . The STNA
certificate is available at the Newark , Coshocton , Knox and Pataskala campuses .
