The 56th annual park social and chicken barbecue will be held Friday through Sunday , Aug . 5-7 at the River View Community Park in Warsaw . Food , fun and fellowship activities are planned for the weekend .
On Friday , Aug . 5 , bingo will be offered at the large shelter while the community pool will be open from 8 a . m . to 10 p . m . with a $ 5 admission charge .
A “ dive-in ” movie will be held at the pool on Saturday , Aug . 6 . A familyfriendly movie will be shown with a $ 5 admission charge .
The main events of the weekend will be held Sunday , Aug . 7 . Starting at 11:30 a . m ., the Walhonding Valley Firefighters will sell their barbecue chicken dinners . The line gets long quickly , so come early . The meal also includes homemade noodles , baked beans and homemade ice cream .
From 1-2 p . m . the Walhonding Rube Band will perform near the large shelter . At 2 p . m . there will be a coin toss in the community pool . Children can dive for money .
Post time for the Beaver Run Duck Race is at 3:30 p . m . Purchase plastic ducks for a donation and watch the fun as the ducks race down the creek . The first duck to cross the finish line wins . Winners of the duck race and of the 50 / 50 drawing will be announced after the race .
