77th West Lafayette Homecoming is July 24-26

Homecoming will be Tette held Thursday through Saturday, July 24-26. The theme this year is“ Let’ s Make a Statement.”
On Thursday, July 24, the rides will open at 5 p. m., as will the eat stand with a limited menu. The queen contest will be at 6 p. m. in Burt Park with Shannon Lawrence as the master of ceremonies.
Activities will begin at 3 p. m. on Friday, July 25, with a blood drive from 3-7 p. m. sponsored by the Happy Tracks 4-H Club. Call Ed Huff at 740-502-9028 for more information about the blood drive. The eat stand will open at 5 p. m. with a full menu, and the rides also will open at 5 p. m.
Parade lineup will begin at 6 p. m. To sign up or for more information, call Alicia Hunt at 740-202-0196 or Bo Fortune at 740-502-2828. The FFA Alumni corn roast will begin at 6 p. m.
Paizley and Brooklyn Moore brought their hamster Jelly Bean to take part in a past pet parade.
The FFA Alumni corn roast will begin Friday, July 25 at 6 p. m.
The parade will begin at 7 p. m. with Shannon Lawrence as the grand marshal and Patty Griffith, Emily Bradford and Tracy Wyler as the announcers. At 8 p. m. the mayor’ s welcome with Mayor Jessie Tubbs will be at the main stage area, and the queen’ s court will be introduced, along with visiting queens. Oren Griffith, chamber president, also will welcome everyone.
The Lions Club Mouse Game will begin at 8 p. m., and 50 / 50 and regular merchandise tickets will be available at the headquarters. Last Call Band will perform on the main stage from 8:30- 10:30 p. m. with a merchandise drawing held. You must have your ticket to win, and tickets are good for both nights.
Saturday, July 26 has a full day of family activities. Dave’ s All You Can Eat Pancake Breakfast will be from 8-11 a. m. at the eat stand. Sign-up for the Ridgewood Cross Country 5k will begin at 7:30 a. m. with the 5k starting at 8:30 a. m.
At 9 a. m. Miss Jody’ s Dance will perform, with Miss Bella Miller’ s dance / tumbling at 9:30 a. m. The West Lafayette Library will hold a story time at 10:30 a. m.
At 11 a. m. pet parade sign-up will begin with the parade starting at 11:30 a. m. The sign-up for the cornhole tournament will start at 11:30 a. m., and the tournament will begin at noon. Rides will open at noon, along with the midway and vendors. The West Lafayette Police Department and Coshocton County Sheriff’ s Office will hold a K-9 rescue show at 2 p. m. The eat stand will open at 3 p. m. with a full menu.

From 7:30-9:45 p. m., Spencer Thomas and Bobby Dotson will take over the main stage with the fireworks dedication at 9:45 p. m. The fireworks will start at 10 p. m., and the merchandise drawing will be at 10:30 p. m.
Oren Griffith said the chamber is hoping for a great turnout this year.
“ We have named our pancake breakfast‘ Dave’ s’ after our deceased Vice President Dave Rogers. We will be having a cornhole tournament this year that is double-elimination. The K-9 show is awesome. If you have not viewed the show, it is well worth it,” Griffith said.“ Our homecoming is done by donations, which we appreciate each and every one of them.
