Peddicord Rice LePage Real Estate & Auction is joining forces with Auction Ohio / AO Real Estate to serve its sellers and buyers even more .

Chris Davis , president of The AO Companies , and Greg Rice from Peddicord Rice LePage have been friends for at least 30 years and worked together in the past .

The AO Companies started as an auction company and then grew with an online platform to give other companies bidders across the internet world .

“ The auction culture

used to be you ’ d get up on a Saturday morning , drive to the auction and wait in all sorts of weather to bid on what you want ,” Davis said . “ You could stand all day , but it was a bit more of a social event . You were usually there to support whoever was selling . People are busier now but still want to find a value and buy things . They just don ’ t want to drive there and take a chance of not getting to buy anything .”

Rice said when they sat back and analyzed their business , they realized they were falling behind in technology . “ We had to step forward into today ’ s

technology world to stay competitive ,” he said . “ We sat down and visited with Chris and put things together . We are pumped about this and the services we will be able to offer people in this area with Auction Ohio .”

With the online platform now available , auction companies no longer have to come in with crews to set up tents and haul belongings out of the house to be sold . Smaller crews can come photograph , measure , work up descriptions and arrange pickup times after purchases are secured online .

“ We are expanding our buyers ’ base and reaching out to more people ,” Rice said . “ I ’ m excited and have a new fire in me .”
