Why are you running for this position ?
I am seeking reelection as sheriff for myriad reasons , foremost among them being my unwavering commitment to serving the people of Coshocton County . This community holds a special place in my heart , as it ’ s not just where I reside ; it ’ s where I have built my life , raised my family , and engaged in meaningful experiences and employment . Among all these endeavors , my role as sheriff has been the most fulfilling , providing profound joy and purpose to my life .
In recent times law enforcement has undergone significant transformations , unfortunately giving rise to noticeable divides . It is imperative to bridge this gap to safeguard our communities effectively . While our community may currently be spared some of the challenges seen in national news stories , I firmly believe all law-enforcement agencies can strengthen their relationships with the community . As your sheriff my foremost objective is to steadfastly reinforce these connections by upholding the highest standards of professionalism . I am committed to closing this gap and fostering a safer , more cohesive community .
My enduring commitment is to serve as a sheriff for all people , ensuring inclusive and effective representation for every member of our community . With the essential education , experience and leadership skills , I am fully equipped to continue serving

What past experiences do you feel qualify you for this position ?
With over 26 years of dedicated service within the sheriff ’ s office including more than 23 years as a sworn lawenforcement officer and over 21 years in administrative roles , I bring a wealth of experience to the table . Throughout my tenure in administration , I have been instrumental in developing and implementing policies , managing budgets , overseeing personnel , negotiating labor contracts , and integrating new technologies to enhance the efficiency of our operations .
My extensive experience extends beyond the confines of the sheriff ’ s office , as I have cultivated strong working relationships with village , city and county officials and school administrators . This collaborative approach has been instrumental in achieving our shared objectives and ensuring effective governance .
As sheriff I have remained resolute in pursuing our goals and objectives . By strategically increasing our workforce , particularly in leadership , training and educational capacities , we have fortified our ability to serve and protect our community effectively .

has yielded tangible results in terms of public safety . Through proactive measures and community-engagement initiatives , we have achieved a remarkable 34 % reduction in major crimes , alongside modest decreases in minor offenses and fatalities .
These outcomes are a testament to our unwavering commitment to enhancing the quality of life within our community , and I remain steadfast in my dedication to continuous improvement .
What would be your top priorities if elected ?
Basic Peace Officer Training Academies : My primary objective is to continue fostering the development of academies aimed at cultivating future law-enforcement candidates . Recognizing the shortage of local Peace Officer Training Academies , I have actively engaged with stakeholders across the state , participating in discussions and advocating for solutions . Through collaboration with the Ohio Peace Officers Training Commission and local stakeholders , we have successfully established opportunities for a local academy . Achieving this goal is foundational to realizing my key objective .
The second goal addresses a pressing concern shared by law-enforcement agencies nationwide — the drug epidemic . Effectively combating this issue requires a multifaceted approach and the mobilization of various resources . The success of our efforts is intricately linked to the fulfillment of my first goal .
