Planetarium schedules several spring shows

The Coshocton Planetarium will hold a spring show on Monday , Feb . 28 , Tuesday through Thursday , March 1-3 , and Monday through Thursday , March 7-10 . There will be two different shows on different nights . All programs are free to the public , donations are accepted and greatly appreciated .

Lake Park announces director and fundraiser

The Lake Park Commissioners announced that Lori Everhart has decided to retire from her position as Lake Park Executive Director . She has held the position since 2006 . Her last working day will be May 31 , but her last official day will be Aug . 31 .
Dr . Dave Erwin , chairman of the Lake Park Commissioners , will travel from Earth through the Solar System and out to the galaxy the Milky Way seeing what all the universe has to offer . The shows are from 7-8 p . m .
On March 8-10 “ One World , One Sky- Big Bird ’ s Adventure ” will be shown . The audience will join Big Bird , Elmo , and friends discussing the night sky including some constellations , stars , and the moon . This show is gauged for family audiences with younger children . Showtimes on these three nights will be 6-7 p . m . and 7-8 p . m .
Planetarium T-Shirts will be sold for 15 $ each and are available from youth medium to 2XL .

Erwin also shared information about a fundraiser the park will be holding . The Half Marathon / 10K / 5K will be April 16 . Registration is now open . Prices vary depending on which distance you run and what month you register . To register , go to dkraces . com . “ The races will begin and end at the park but will go over to town , and the half marathon will be out of town in a couple spots ,” he said . “ Proceeds from the races will go to the Friends of the Park , which distributes funds for various projects benefiting the park .”

Ridgewood to have its kindergarten registration

Registration for children entering kindergarten in the Ridgewood Local School District will be held Wednesday , March 30 ; Thursday , March 31 ; and Friday , April 1 at Ridgewood Elementary School .
Registration will be scheduled by appointments . Call Ridgewood Elementary School at 740-545-5312 from 7 a . m . to 3 p . m . to schedule an appointment as soon as possible .

In addition , she is a philanthropist . She was a lead donor for the Montgomery Hall capital campaign and has supported projects at COTC ’ s Newark campus including the construction of the John and Mary Alford Center for Science and Technology . In 2013 , to celebrate the 90th anniversary of Jones Metal Products , she established a
scholarship at the Coshocton Foundation for adult students who are seeking education and training to compete in today ’ s job markets .
COTC is the only technical college in Ohio operating four full-service campus locations : Newark , Coshocton , Knox and Pataskala . The school started in Newark in 1971 with 114 students . Since 1973 nearly 16,000 have graduated from the college .
“ Ninety-two percent of our graduates are employed in their field of study within six months of graduating ,” said COTC President John Berry , PhD .
“ That is higher than any other college or university in the state of Ohio .”
Fifty years ago COTC only offered six associate degree programs . Today there are over 50 associate degree and certificate programs and a brandnew bachelor ’ s degree option that was recently introduced .
