LIGHTS FROM 2021
Funding :
Funding for the district begins with local appropriations from the Coshocton County Commissioners . Additionally , the City of Coshocton provides funding for storm water management education . These monies are matched by the State of Ohio . These funds are maintained by the County Auditor for the operation of the Coshocton SWCD . Technical assistance is provided through a Memorandum of Understanding with the USDA , Natural Resources Conservation Service . Working agreements with other federal , state , and local agencies allow the Coshocton SWCD to accomplish our conservation goals . In 2021 , 26 contracts for $ 1,770,404 were obligated to landowners as cost share to install conservation practices . This total does not reflect the actual cost of construction for the projects . The money spent by producers is used in the local community for contractors , materials , and supplies . This amounts to $ 9.57 being returned to Coshocton County landowners for every local dollar invested in the Coshocton SWCD . We are proud of the conservation work done by landowners in cooperation with our office .
SWCD funding begins with local appropriations from the Coshocton County Commissioners and the City of Coshocton . These local funds are matched by the State of Ohio . We appreciate Senator Hottinger ’ s support of our program and wish him the best in “ retirement .”
