Education and Outreach
Educating our community about the wise use of our soil and water resources is an important part of the CSWCD program . Some of the many ways we do that include oneon-one visits with landowners , classroom presentations , tours to educate community leaders , and speaking at civic events . Many of the annual events we host such as the Ag Day Celebration , First Farm Friday , Pasture Walks , Arbor Day , 5th Grade Poster Contest , and our Annual Meeting and Banquet depend on our partners or volunteers to make them successful . This cooperation of working together with landowners , businesses , civic and community groups , and partner agencies helps our program to reach a wider audience . We continue to hold our Tree Seedling sale each spring and print five CSWCD newsletters yearly . Reaching out to our community about the importance of caring for our soil and water resources remains a top priority for our program . Affiliate Members are voluntary contributions made to the CSWCD program to promote conservation education . In 2024 , 51 Affiliate Members contributed $ 6,478.99 to further the education efforts of the CSWCD .

Fourth Street was a busy place during First FARM Friday in August . This event encourages families to learn more about agriculture by getting children and adults up close to farm machinery and animals .
