Celebrate the holidays with a variety of upcoming events

COSHOCTON COUNTY – This weekend is full of opportuni-
ties to celebrate the holidays with family and friends or
enjoy a few magical moments by yourself.
West Lafayette Christmas in the Village
Start the weekend off on Saturday, Dec. 7 with West
Lafayette’s annual Christmas in the Village. Club Aries
32nd annual Craft Show will be held from 9 a.m. to 2
p.m. at the First Baptist Church, 688 E. Main St. The
morning also includes the opportunity to compete in
the Reindeer Run being hosted by the Ridgewood Cross
Country program. Registration is $20 and opens at 9
a.m. at Burt Park. The race starts at 10 a.m.
After the Reindeer run, warm up with some hot cocoa
at the West Lafayette Branch Library. Cocoa, cookies, a
holiday craft, music and door prize drawings are all part
of the library’s holiday open house, which is being held
from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The Christmas parade will start at 1 p.m. Lineup is at
12:30 p.m. at Ridgewood Middle School. From there the
parade route will follow Oak Street to Russell Avenue to
State Route 751. It wraps up at the First Baptist Church
where Santa will be. For information on joining the pa-

After Christmas in the Village you can continue
your holiday celebrating at either Roscoe Village or the
Pomerene Center for the Arts.
Roscoe Village Christmas Candlelightings
Roscoe Village’s Christmas Candlelightings will be
held this year on Saturday, Dec. 7 and Dec. 14. The
ceremony starts at 6 p.m. on the main stage in the center

Santa will meet children afterwards at the First Baptist
Church like he did last year.

joy beforehand. Hands-on crafts will be offered in the
visitor center from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., roasted chestnuts
will be served from 3 p.m. until they are sold out, free
hot mulled cider and cookies will be available from 5
to 7 p.m. and strolling carolers will help spread holiday
cheer. Santa also will be stopping by from 2 to 5 p.m. at
the Johnson-Humrickhouse Museum, which also will
have activities for kids and adults.
Another option for Saturday evening entertainment is
the Pomerene Center’s night of music.
Pomerene Center Holiday Music
This year marks Donovan Rice’s Seventh annual
Christmas Cabaret at the Pomerene Center for the Arts
featuring a mix of jazz and holiday music. This year
he performs with a new group of old friends who have
wanted to perform together for some time. Vocalists
Christopher Graves and Andy Hall will join Donovan for
a lively evening of song supported by Jane Crow on pia-
no and Jim Frady on bass. Performances will be held on
Friday, Dec. 6 and Saturday, Dec. 7. The show will begin
at 7:30 p.m. each night. This is a ticketed event. Visit the
Pomerene Center website or Facebook page to purchase
your tickets.
Coshocton Community Choir Concert
Christmas music also will fill Coshocton High School’s
auditorium when the Coshocton Community Choir
present its annual Christmas concert at 3 p.m. on Sunday,
Dec. 8. This year’s theme is “Where Shepherd’s Knelt.”
Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students and
children. Tickets can be purchased online at coshoc-
toncommunitychoir.org, from any choir member, or
at the following businesses: Marilyn’s Natural Foods,
Buehler’s, Coshocton County Visitor’s Bureau, Home
Loan Savings Bank in West Lafayette, or Baker’s Food in
Newcomerstown.
