Black Bears place fifth
On Dec . 4 the Black Bears bowling team traveled to Wabash Lanes in New Philadelphia .
The Black Bears came away with a fifth-place finish . Individual placements for the Black Bears were Tyler Bryan with fifth place and a three-game series of 644 and TJ Crosby with ninth place and a 605 series .
On Dec . 3 the Black Bears traveled to Boulevard Lanes to take on Garaway . In an exciting back and forth match , the Black Bears ended up being defeated by the Pirates by 80 pins .
The final score was 2,484-2,404 . Leading the way for the Black Bears was Caleb Trull with a high game of 242 and a two-game series of 435 . Following closely behind was TJ Crosby with a 421 . On Dec . 7 the team took on Indian Valley at Legacy Lanes . The Black Bears ended the battle winning 1,917-1,742 .
Leading the Black Bears was Tyler Bryan with games of 234 and 189 for a 423 series . Also leading the Bears were Caleb Trull with a 363 series and TJ Crosby with a 302 series .
Lady Bears host Indian Valley
On Dec . 7 the River View Lady Bears bowling team was at home at Legacy Lanes hosting the Indian Valley Lady Braves .
The Lady Bears rolled away with a victory 1,674-1,454 to improve to 3-0 on the season . Leading the way for the Lady Bears were junior Emma Ward

with games of 178 and 144 for a 322 twogame set and freshman Rebecca Durben with games of 162 ( personal record ) and 137 for a 299 ( personal record ) twogame set .
River View swims at Dover Invite
The River View varsity swim team opened its season by competing in the Dover Invite at the Tuscarawas YMCA on Dec . 4 . The boys team finished second overall while the girls finished ninth .
Winning events for the boys were Zachariah Phillips , Jamal Watts , Colin Addy and Coen Bible in the 200 freestyle relay with a time of 1:36.91 ; Cole Tatro in the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:16.53 ; and Coen Bible in the 100 free with a time of 53.59 .
Also placing in the top 10 , the medley relay of Phillips , Addy , Tatro and Watts placed third ( 1:55.36 ); the 400 free relay of Watts , Addy , Tatro and Bible placed third ( 3:42.56 ); and the group of Jesse Shoemaker , Valesquez Bernardo , Marcos Barbe and Jamison Adams placed 10th ( 4:41.07 ).
In individual events Bible was third ( 2:03.40 ) and Barbe was 10th ( 2:46.20 ) in the 200 free , Phillips was second ( 24.08 ) and Watts was fourth ( 24.75 ) in the 50 free , Tatro was second ( 58.05 ) and Addy was seventh ( 1:09.49 ) in the 100 butterfly , Adams was eighth ( 1:21.34 ) in the 100 backstroke , and Phillips was third ( 1:10.66 ) in the 100 breaststroke .
In the girls relays , Cortney Bookless , Britton McCoy , Ally Fischer and Michaela White were ninth ( 2:26.35 ) while the group of Piper Andrews , Kynsington McMasters , Emily Williams and Alexa Rodriguez placed 10th in the 200 medley . Bookless , Andrews , White and Fischer were ninth ( 2:08.79 ) in the 200 free , and Bookless , White , McCoy and Fischer were 10th ( 4:55.21 ) in the 400 free .
In individual events Britton McCoy placed 10th ( 1:29.69 ) in the 100 breast .
