Friday , April 15 is Good Friday . It is the day God ’ s people remember Jesus carrying his cross and then being crucified for the forgiveness of sins . To commemorate Jesus ’ journey , the community is invited to a Good Friday walk being planned by the Coshocton Ministerial Association .

“ We want people to think about the trip Jesus made on Good Friday and that he had to carry his cross through the streets of Jerusalem and out to Cavalry , where he was crucified ,” Pastor Joe Sanders said . “ People are encouraged to bring their own cross that they are able to carry while walking .”

People will gather at the courthouse gazebo at noon on April 15 . Pastor Mike Jansen from the Coshocton Christian

Tabernacle will provide instructions and a dedication of the walk .

“ When walking , we ask people to be praying about different issues ,” Sanders said . “ When we get to the business areas of town , we would like people to pray for them . We ’ ve seen quite a difference downtown in the last three to four year and

Walkers will stay on the sidewalks and head east on Main Street . When arriving at Seventh Street , Central Christian Church will provide a pit stop . Participants will then head either north to Chestnut Street or south to Walnut Street , where they will turn west . Grace

United Methodist Church on Walnut Street will act as another pit stop along with First Baptist Church on Chestnut Street for those who need a break .

After the walk everyone will return to the gazebo for worship and prayer led by Pastor Bryan Kittner from Emmanuel Lutheran Church .

“ The ministerial association has had several prayer walks in the past , but we haven ’ t done one since before the pandemic ,” Sanders said . “ We want to start doing some stuff again , now that the pandemic seems to be a little more under control in our area .”

Everyone is invited to attend the prayer walk .
