SUNDAY APRIL 4 , 1982 Yesterday saw Coshocton County Memorial Hospital dedicate its new addition . The one-story addition will primarily serve as a diagnostic laboratory and was dedicated by board chairman Willard S . Breon to Clara Custer Gallagher . “ The completion of this clinical project is an important milestone in the history of our hospital . If we are to continue to be a viable provider of health care , we have to update facilities ,” said Hospital Administrator A . F . Cacchillo . . TUESDAY , MARCH 31 , 1992 Efforts are underway to save a part of Coshocton County ’ s history . The Waggoner Cemetery in Oxford Township has been neglected for some time now , and township residents have been working to fundraise to save the cemetery . So far $ 2,000 has been raised by locals , and an Oxford expat living in Columbus has pledged $ 5,000 and has promised an additional $ 5,000 if the local fund can raise $ 5,000 . Joyce Poland , one of the organizers of the effort , believes they will be able to reach the threshold by June . SUNDAY , MARCH 31 , 2002 Lake Park ’ s softball complex will be getting a new , but familiar name . The late sports reporter and pillar of the county sports world , Frank Shepherd will be honored by the recreation board by naming the facilities after him . The dedication will be held on April 20 at 9:30 and will be followed up by a Coshocton vs Ridgewood doubleheader , the first game in the Frank Shepherd Memorial Softball Complex . WEDNESDAY , APRIL 4 , 2012 The River View Board of Education announced that Dalton Summers will serve as superintendent . Summers is experienced in school administration , having worked in Guernsey County . “ First of all , I am relieved because the last two weeks have been an emotional roller coaster . I ’ m leaving a district that I am attached to and that is doing great things , they have great people and they ’ ve done great things at Rolling Hills . They ’ re on the climb , they ’ re on the rise . This was a tough decision to make , the toughest career decision I ’ ve made . This will be the second time I ’ ve left a district , but I ’ m excited about the opportunity to come to a new district , a district with the tradition that this one has . No matter who I ask , no matter what I look for , I see nothing but positive . The environment , the culture , the rural atmosphere , it ’ s the exact type of environment in which I want to see my three sons grow up in ,” said Summers .
