A joint venture between Tim and Jessie Tubbs and their 11-yearold daughter , Audrey , will be opening in West Lafayette .

Yippee Kayak will have a soft opening in May . Tim said they will have a grand opening sometime in June . Right now , they are offering both half day and full day trips . You can choose to be dropped off in Newcomerstown or in Orange at SR – 36 and 751 . Take out point will be in West Lafayette . Tim said they have about 16 kayaks , both single and double .

He will transport you and your group to the drop off place and , with air tags on the kayaks , he will know when you are close to the end and will come to pick you up . You are welcome to bring your own kayaks and he will haul them for you . “ Most of our kayaks are the ‘ sit-on ’ type , but we do have a few that you sit down in ,” Tim said .

In the same building at 113 West Railroad Street in West Lafayette , is Fred ’ s Got Worms , a full – service bait shop . Fred ’ s Got Worms is already open limited hours . Audrey said she always wants money for something and no one will hire an 11-year-old . “ My mom thought this would be an easy business to start .”

While Tim will be there when she is open , Audrey will be the person selling the bait . Right now , they have crappie minnows and night crawlers , along with a few other options . “ We ’ ll have goldfish , wax worms , creek chubs and other stuff , too ,” said Audrey .
