Coloring, essay winners are named

The month of March is Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month, and elementary students from Coshocton County Schools celebrated with a coloring contest for kindergarten through second grade and an essay contest for third grade through sixth grade.
The month of March is Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month, and elementary students from Coshocton County schools celebrated with a coloring contest for kindergarten through second grade and an essay contest for third grade through sixth grade. In the two contests, 718 students participated. Winners received their awards at a ceremony on March 27 at Hopewell School.
“ We chose two winners from each school, so be proud of yourselves. You are the big winner from your school. We have some very good students who color and very good writers here today,” said Shannon Shontz, director of education for the CCBDD.
Each child received a $ 25 gift card from the Legacy Lanes bowling alley and a free game card.
Coloring contest winners included Layla Mack of River View, Everleigh Wolfe of River View, Josie Belt of Coshocton Christian, Novaleigh Hastings of Coshocton City, Brantley W. of Coshocton City, Bryson Barbee of Ridgewood, Pike Drummond of Ridgewood and Ayzlee Rogers of Sacred Heart.
Essay contest winners included Layne Moore of Sacred Heart, Fayelynn Smith of River View, Miley Holdsworth of River View, Hope
Durben of Coshocton City, Anna Jo Bridges of Coshocton City, Kennedy Brickles of Ridgewood and Dominic Dickerson of Ridgewood.
Stacey Jackson from Coshocton Elementary won the teacher classroom prize this year.
