Robert E . “ Bob ” Spitler , 103 , of Coshocton passed away on Saturday , April 13 , 2024 , at Windsorwood Place .
Bob was born in Fairfield County , Ohio on August 27 , 1920 , to the late Arlie and Margery ( Parrish ) Spitler . He graduated from Millersport High School and served in the United States Air Force . Bob served during WWII in the 127 Air Depot Group repairing fighter planes . He was member of the longtime member of the Grace United Methodist Church , Masons , Shriners , Coshocton Elks Lodge and V . F . W . Bob built , owned and operated Spitler ’ s Family Restaurant ,
Mary Elizabeth ( Cross ) Albertson , age 97 , of Coshocton , passed away Wednesday , April 10 , 2024 . She was born in Coshocton on September 12 , 1926 , to the late John and Bertie ( Cunningham ) Cross .
She graduated from Roscoe High School in 1945 and then married Harold Albertson on May 11 , 1946 . Together they owned and operated Mary and Harold ’ s Restaurant on Main Street for several years . Mary attended Roscoe United Methodist Church and worked for

He is survived by his children Michael “ Mike ” ( Michele ) Spitler of Pickerington and Kimberly “ Kim ” ( Mike ) Jamison of Coshocton ; grandchildren Angie Mulholland and Matt ( Jessica ) Jamison ; great grandchildren Victoria and Bennett Muholland , Allie and Jillian Jamison ; brother , Fred Spitler of Phoenix , AZ ; previous wife , JoAnn Randles and her family ; and several nieces and nephews .
Along with his parents , he is preceded in death his wife of 52 years , Davaun ( Wolford ) Spitler ; siblings William Spitler , Erma Gobert , Juanita Cooperrider , and Jim Spitler ; and

Friends may call at Miller Funeral Home on Friday , April 19 , 2024 from 11am to 1pm . A funeral service will begin at 1pm with Pastor Deb Quillen officiating . Interment will follow in South Lawn Cemetery with Coshocton County Veterans Honor Guard performing Military Honors .

Wayne L . Everhart was named manager for the Given Funeral Home of West Lafayette . Everhart began his career with the Gibson and Bontrager Funeral Home in 1964 and would graduate from the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science in 1968 . He and his wife Penny Palmer of Bergholz currently live in West Lafayette . He is an active member of the community , attending West Lafayette United Methodist Church , is a member of the Masonic Lodge 196 , and formerly served as president of the Coshocton County Kidney Foundation .

Last night saw the Coshocton County Red Cross honor Mary Lou Clendenin for over 20 years of community service . For the past 21 years with the aid organization , she has worked both within and without it to help the community . Amongst her achievements Clendenin oversaw the creation of the Coshocton Food Pantry in 1963 while serving as president of Church Women United , formerly chaired the blood and oversaw a sewing circle which made small items such as pillows for overseas disaster relief .

Over the past few days River View High School has played host to 768 students and advisors representing student councils from 250 schools throughout the state in the 41st Ohio Association of Student Councils conference . Opening Thursday night , the conference aimed at establishing fellowship and offering learning experiences for all in attendance , and according to the students it was a rousing success . “ I ’ ve met a lot of new friends and really done something that was important ,” said junior high student council chairwoman Tara Baumgardner . Over 200 area homes opened their doors for the visitors to Coshocton County . This year ’ s event has been the largest conference to date .

Six to one was the final score for the Black Bears vs West Holmes baseball game yesterday . Pitcher Jordan Fry allowed just a single hit the entire game . Fry also contributed at the plate with a double . Justin Bible put in a triple . Cody Stickdorn managed 2 RBI , with Ryan Raber contributed 1 RBI . River View now stands 5-4 overall and 2-1 in the season .

“ I like the atmosphere there . It ’ s also close to home and they have a good soccer program ,” said Hannah Michael regarding Mount Vernon Nazarene University . On April 9 CHS ’ goalie signed a letter of intent to play soccer at the university . “ She is a really special player and has been a big part of our success ,” said Coach Matt Hartley , who has coached Hannah for the past eight years . Hannah has yet to decide on a major .
