BPW members go to leadership meeting
Three Coshocton Business and Professional Women( BPW) members, President Katie Hultz, Region 3 Legislative Chair Raine Hammond and BPW / OH Nomination Char Liz Herrell attended the BPW / OH Leadership Meeting and Legislative Platform Meeting on April 5, at Owens Community College, Toledo Campus.
Hammond attended the legislation meeting. Herrell, 2025-2026 BPW / OH Individual Development( ID) Chair, presented information on the ID program for the upcoming year at the leadership meeting.
Carol Holton, Toledo BPW, Region 1, won the ID speech competition. Her speech was on Gerrymandering.
BPW / OH President Elect Lora Manon, Lancaster BPW, Region 4, presided over the leadership training for the 2025-2026 BPW year.
The 105 th BPW Ohio Conference will be held on Saturday, May 17, at the Nationwide Event Center in Powell. Conference keynote speaker will be Jennifer Brunner, justice, Supreme Court of Ohio.

MONDAY, APRIL 14, 1975 The 51st annual FFA Judging Contest was held at OSU, and River View’ s FFA chapter has placed in the top three out of 260 schools. The wool judging team consisting of Mike Johnson, Mike Mosholder and Jerry Bussey finished third out of 116. The agronomy team: Kevin McCurdy, Mich Schonauer and Mike Wills, placed second of 129. The meats team: Neil Croft, Gary Martin and Richard Latham, finished third out of 149.
SUNDAY, APRIL 14, 1985 Calico Harvest Dry Goods and Crafts, 84 W. Pine St., celebrated its grand opening last weekend. Co-owned by Charlene Henry and Barb Stewart, the store offers crafting supplies as well as crafting classes. Currently the store is only open from 10 a. m. to 2 p. m. but will expand its hours in the fall.
MONDAY, APRIL 10, 1995 West Lafayette musicians Merritt and Linda Voorhies will perform in Nashville at the Legends TV recording theater in Nashville on“ Nashville Starseek.” TNN and TNT will broadcast the recordings sometime between the 17th and 22nd. They will perform their original song“ I’ ll Look for Jesus.”
THURSDAY, APRIL 14, 2005 A dinner will be held at the Coshocton County Career Center on April 21 to celebrate Big Brothers Big Sisters’ 25 years in the county. The dinner will see volunteers and contributors honored for their efforts.“ We’ ve seen how as little as one hour each month benefits a child. They are less likely to skip school, more trusting and self-confident. They are less likely to use drugs and alcohol and have better relationships with their peers,” said director Sheila Mayse.“ Our goal is to create a mentoring friendship meant to last a lifetime.”
WEDNESDAY, APRIL 15, 2015 Sunday saw Grace United Methodist Church celebrate its 175th anniversary.“ We have trusted God to lead us in this yearlong celebration that we started in January,” said Judy Elliot.“ And we trust that He will lead us through coming years.” A commemorative coin, designed by organist Tom Havelka, was given to each church family. Havelka also performed a song he wrote for the celebration. A time capsule, placed in 1980, was opened.
