Janice Ann Slaughter , age 92 , of Coshocton , passed away peacefully on Sunday , April 2 , 2023 . She was born on October 15 , 1930 , in Coshocton to the late Simon and Irene ( Kenny ) Stewart .
She graduated from Sacred Heart Catholic High School in 1948 and married Ralph Slaughter on July 28 , 1951 .
Janice was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church , enjoyed going to garage sales , collecting antiques , playing Bingo and spending time with her family . Janice will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her .
She is survived by her two daughters , Kathy ( Rodney ) Adams of Fresno and Debi ( Rod ) Wasinger of Coshocton ; three grandsons , Scott ( Julie ) Adams , Jeff ( Mandee ) Adams and Chris Wasinger ; five greatgrandchildren , Jayden , Jamison , Chloee , Jaxson and Jensen ; sister , Jane ( John ) Brehl of Kentucky ; niece , Tisha Thompson and her children , Presley

Ricky Edward “ Rick ” Deringer
Ricky Edward “ Rick ” Deringer , 64 , died Thursday , April 6 , 2023 , at the Genesis Hospice Morrison House in Zanesville .
He was born Oct . 17 , 1958 , in Coshocton to William “ Eddie ” and Geraldine ( Mizer ) Deringer . He was a 1977 graduate of River View High School , and drove truck for many years , which he enjoyed . Rick loved riding his motorcycle , shooting pool and playing in pool tournaments . Most of all he enjoyed spending time with family and friends .
He is survived by his mother , Geraldine Deringer of Coshocton ; children , Kim Deringer of Mt . Vernon , and Travis Deringer of Coshocton ; step-children , Chris Randles , Shanna Newell , and Nikki Newell , all of Coshocton ; grandchildren , Megan Deringer , Brandon Deringer , Keyonnah Deringer , Thomas Wisecarver , Nevaeh Rice , and Eli Randles ; a greatgranddaughter , Katherine Edinger ; a sister , Rhonda
( David ) Sees of Coshocton ; nephew , Shawn Sees of Coshocton ; niece , Mandy Sees of South Carolina ; and several cousins .
He was preceded in death by his father , Eddie Deringer ; a grandson , Cody J . Smith ; and his wife , Jackie Deringer .

Minnie C . Jones ( Grammie ), age 83 , of Coshocton , went to be with The Lord on the happiest day in history , Easter Sunday , April 9 , 2023 .
She was born on February 4 , 1940 , in Coshocton , to the late Mike and Marie ( Pongratz ) Western . Minnie was a 1958 graduate of Coshocton High School .
She was a life member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and worked at the Pregnancy Distress Center for many years . Minnie loved her family fiercely but she loved Jesus even more . She taught those around her the importance of prayer , loving others , showing grace and giving forgiveness . Her persistent prayers , presence and laughter will be infinitely missed by all who knew her . When you think of Minnie we hope that you ’ re inspired to pray and give praise to God just as she always did .
Minnie was a big fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes , enjoyed baking and spending time with her loving family .
She is survived by her three children , Teresa ( Ricky Whims ) Ames of West Lafayette , Amy ( Larry ) Durben of Coshocton and Steve ( Cherie ) Jones of Coshocton ; two wonderful grandchildren , Justine ( Jamie ) Albert of South Carolina and Jared Jones of Port Washington ; and five very special great-grandchildren , Clara Marie , Ellis Lane , and Emma Ruth Albert and Legacy Gillian .
Along with her parents , Minnie is preceded in death by her son , Curt Jones and her brother , Paul M . Western .
Calling hours will be held on Thursday , April 13 , 2023 , from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Given- Dawson-Paisley Funeral Home . A funeral service will be held at the Funeral Home on Friday , April 14 , 2023 , at 11 : 00 am . Burial will follow at South Lawn Cemetery .
