Prayer walk was held downtown on Good Friday

Coshocton Ministerial Association sponsored the annual prayer walk on Good Friday , April 7 , at the courthouse gazebo .
“ The idea is to gather together to remember the day that Jesus died for our sins and think about that , put it all in perspective and be grateful ,” Pastor Mike Jansen said . “ All of the Christian churches come together with one purpose in mind — that even though there are many churches in town , the blood of Christ is something we all have in common . Stew Royce is doing a reading , so as we remember what happened at the cross , we think about the nails . We think about the crown of thorns . This is a little different than we have done in the past .”
“ On this Good Friday , we come together to remember the final hours of Jesus ’ life here on earth by willingly going to the cross ,” Rev . Stew Royce said . “ Jesus demonstrated how far God was willing to go to reach out to us , to save us . We look at the cross knowing it was for us and because of our sin that he endured the pain
and suffering . This day Jesus was doing on the cross that which we could not do for ourselves .”
Pastors Larry Massie and Bryan Kittner led the two groups in the prayer walk carrying the cross as they have done for many years . Individuals were

encouraged to bring a cross to carry as well .
Two groups led by the cross walked through the town praying over the businesses , residences and offices on Main , Chestnut and Walnut streets between Second and Seventh streets including the
intersecting streets .
