What is, according to you, the best part of the IMEM study? How do you want to be remembered by your students?  Charlie: For me the best part is how we take what we try and teach you in the classroom, so the theory of the program, and apply it with different projects. So, we teach you some concepts or ideas in the classroom and then you get to try that mainly through production house projects or your work placements or other kinds of projects. So that way that we implement both the theory behind something and allow the student to actually try it out and apply that theory in a practical way I think is the best part of the program. Charlie: I hope they remember me as straight forward. Kind of easy going but I can also be a dick if you piss me off. But I think once students figure me out, I was easy to deal with. Arleen: The best part of the IMEM study is not in the study, but what happens afterwards. I am very, very proud when I see Alumni in industry events or during film festivals and I see how successful they have become and how much they love what they are doing right now. Arnoud: For me it’s most important that students have a positive experience about the way I’m dealing with them. I have an open personality trying to approach students. Arnoud: Honestly, I think all parts from year one to year four are important as part of the total study. But if I really have to choose then in my opinion the best part for the student to gain the most experience is the placement. Every time I hear the stories from students, I always realize that the two foundation years really makes them ready for the industry as well. “I am very, very proud when I see Alumni in industry events ” Arleen: I want to be remembered as approachable and available to give students advice. At first, I can seem serious and strict. But later, once I know the students better, it is easier to talk to them when they know what they want to get out of IMEM. What production house would you choose?  Charlie: I would choose radio, cause I’m a radio teacher myself. Radio was my first passion. I also did some television hosting as well, but I’ve always been fond of radio and I think there is a lot of room to do some fun stuff in radio.     Arleen: My favorite PH and the PH that I would choose would be  mADE  AV, but on the other hand, if I was studying at BUas I would also like to try transmedia.      Arnoud: I was always interested in marketing so I would choose for marketing. If I were able to choose as a student, then I think I would choose AV. The way films and videos are produced and created attracts my interest. 28
