A D AY I N T H E L I F E Willem van de Kletersteeg BAM video content is an advertising agency owned by NHTV alumnus Willem van de Kletersteeg. The company makes video marketing and corporate films together with a small team. After Willem starts his day with a nice cup of coffee, he checks LinkedIn for prospects, leads and other sales opportunities. To avoid distraction, he checks his emails only once or twice a day; a good tip for everyone who is easily distracted! For Willem, his work has become his lifestyle; he no longer counts his working hours, because it is always on his mind. He is in the office anywhere between 20 and 80 hours a week, but as he stated: Willem’s team consists of himself, being a producer, director and boss of the company, a full-time intern and two part-time employees, that is according to him, always gezellig. They share their office with PR agency (DOK30) who work with two to three people, depending on the day of the week. Working in the production industry demands a lot of time. Most filming days are long and outside the office hours, so there is little time left at home; the deadlines for clients also contribute to a difficult balance between work and personal life. I try to keep work and private life somewhat separate, but for me it sometimes feels like it’s all the same. 17 Willem van de Kletersteeg visited the Calvé Pindakaas factory a few years ago; a bucket list highlight according to him. Another great achievement for him was directing Droomkamers, a show on Nickelodeon, where children were surprised with extreme bedroom make-overs. Two seasons have been produced already and the third season will start in two weeks. I never really thought of what I wanted to become later, I just did what I thought was fun and did it step by step.
