Letter from the President

Amid the countless things we have learned over the past year , the one that perhaps resonates most with me is that grief and gratitude can coexist . In one of our hands , we carry grief for the loss of more than half a million American lives to an unprecedented pandemic . For many of us , these lost lives were beloved family and friends . In the other hand , we carry gratitude for the compassion , resilience and generosity of our community that have helped us persevere with the hope of brighter days ahead .
The board and staff of the Baylor Scott & White All Saints Health Foundation grieve the loss of several of our most benevolent friends over the past few months , among them Richard “ Dick ” Lowe , Nicholas “ Nick ” Martin and Paul Andrews . These three men had many things in common – business acumen , commitment to family and an abiding love of our community .
But they especially shared a deep devotion to Baylor Scott & White All Saints Medical Center – Fort Worth and a belief that their philanthropy could make a difference in improving the health of the patients we serve . Their generosity provided the impetus behind many of our most significant projects , including the Joan Katz Cancer Resource Center , our new Emergency Department and the nationally recognized Andrews Women ’ s Hospital .
Thus , we carry immeasurable gratitude for the vision and generosity of these gentlemen to Baylor Scott & White - Fort Worth . Along with the many donors who are listed in these pages , they have made it possible to make healthcare better today and for future generations . We will be forever grateful .
Warm regards ,
Amy Adkins President , Baylor Scott & White All Saints Health Foundation Amy . Adkins @ BSWHealth . org
