Inaugural event aims to even the playing field for anyone diagnosed with cancer
n a balmy February evening , an impressive group of 90 TCU football enthusiasts gathered at the Founder ’ s Club , located at TCU ’ s Amon G . Carter Stadium , to attend the Foundation ’ s inaugural Purple Reign fundraising event . The brainchild of Frank Kyle , with the invaluable assistance of Howard Katz and Chris Harrison , the event combined the key ingredients important to any Horned Frog fan - cocktails , a hearty steak dinner and riveting sports conversation .
An incredible group of Fort Worth community leaders gathered to celebrate the triumph of the most successful TCU
football team since 1938 , while also gaining insights into the inspiring efforts of the Joan Katz Cancer Resource Center . The Center ’ s team consists of nurses and patient navigators who surround patients and family members with hope , guidance and support to help them face and defeat a disease that in an instant changes their lives forever .
The main attraction was an actionpacked conversation with TCU Head Football Coach Sonny Dykes and Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Jeremiah Donati , JD , moderated by the incomparable voice of the TCU Frogs , Brian Estridge .
The inaugural Purple Reign event raised $ 90,000 to support the work of the Joan Katz Cancer Resource Center , thanks to the support of these table sponsors : Four Sevens Oil , Flying T Club , Frost , Molly and Rusty Reid / Higginbotham , Holiday Auto Group , Howard Katz , Frank Kyle and Luther King Capital Management . With generous underwriting from Mary Lowe , 100 % of the proceeds went directly to support the Center ’ s services .
Just like our amazing Horned Frog football team , the Center has become the team for countless families . This event served to even the playing field for anyone diagnosed with cancer .
