schedule and being able to build in what I need to do along the way, certainly came into play during the season

Osteopathy is all about the interconnectedness between mind, body, and spirit. How do you think our passions fit into this philsophy?

I really love the framework that osteopathy provides not just from a medical sense, but a lifestyle sense. I feel like our hobbies and the things we do outside contribute to the ultimate balance. In medical school, we could spend every second of every day looking into this guideline or this diagnosis; there's no shortage of information to learn. Over the course of the years spent in medical school, it becomes kind of an art to be able to find the balance between your hobbies, your dedication to your work, studying, and continuing on this journey. We can't lose sight of the things that make us who we are and create that well rounded nature, because we need to have some release to bridge the gap between the potentially stressful nature of what we're doing for our work. We need something to break away from that and keep our mental health in check. You have to be able to dedicate yourself to crafting a balance between those two things, in whichever way that looks like for each individual. It’s something that can easily be lost if you get yourself too enveloped in the work that you do. I feel like it's definitely essential for our well-being and our sanity to keep up with our hobbies.

How do you relate your interest in pro football to your interest in medicine?

Regardless of whether it's an athletic realm, or a medical realm, you are able to ascribe yourself to being the best you can be or putting the best product on the table, whatever that means for you. Being fully dedicated to being the best you can be crosses both athletic bounds and medical bounds.

For example, when it comes to the football stage, we’re learning the offense and studying a playbook in the same way you study medicine. We would have weekly Zoom meetings of going over our offensive playbook and we implemented plays the day before games. You had to be up to date on your knowledge of the playbook to be able to make those changes. The coaches didn't shy away from making last minute adjustments on things. So, in that sense there are definitely parallels across the board of needing to be prepared. I feel like that preparation, whether it was on the football field or whether it's going into clinicals, bodes for success in whatever avenue that happens to be in. That's where it bridges for me, just dedicating myself to the process of succeeding along the way and being able to put my best foot forward.

And how did you team do this season?
