ALUMNI NOTES
Alyssa Cole, DO '16, was recently featured in a Forbes Magazine article titled, “7 Dynamic Female Founders And Brands To Watch In 2021". The article recounts Dr. Cole’s partnership with Dr. Wangtrakuldee’s Philadelphia-based protective apparel company, AmorSui, to create the antimicrobial gloves that help protect against bacteria, fungi, and direct contact with viruses, including the one that causes COVID-19.
The gloves are not meant to only be used in a medical setting, but for protection during anyone’s daily routines. The gloves also feature a reflective logo for nighttime visibility and the thumb and index fingers are touch screen sensitive.
Dr. Cole writes, “Since medical school taught me what it means to put the patient first and that’s what led me to the idea for antimicrobial gloves to help protect the community beyond our hospital doors.”
