COM STUDENTS ELECTED TO NATIONAL POSITIONS

COM student, Thomas Mozier, COM ‘23 was appointed to the Emergency Medicine Residents Association’s New England Medical Student Council. His official position is UNE COM Liaison. Student Doctor Mozier will be the point of contact for UNE COM on the national board.

Natalie Koons, COM ’23, was selected to represent UNE COM as part of the American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) Medical Student Component House of Delegates. During her term, which runs from July 2020 to June 2021, she will be attending the virtual annual ASA National Meeting to vote on behalf of the governing council.

The ASA seeks to attract and assist high quality medical students to learn more about the field of anesthesiology and consider careers as anesthesiologists. Every accredited medical school is entitled to one delegate to serve as a liaison between the ASA Medical Student Component and their medical school.

Student Doctor Koons says, “The Medical Student Component provides resources and opportunities for individuals interested in anesthesia as a medical specialty. From being involved with the state society here in Maine (MeSA) and ASA, it has been such a welcoming community to be involved in.”
