LT (03) MATTHEW LOMBARDI, DO '13 (UNITED STATES NAVY)
Matthew Lombardi, DO ’13 is a member of the Navy and has served in San Diego, CA, New London, CT, and Guam, USA. He did his Internal Medicine Internship at the Naval Center in San Diego, CA, and was an Undersea Medical Officer on the USS Frank Cable (AS-40).
“My military experience broadened my understanding of the world through travel and experiencing different cultures. I learned that diversity should be embraced and regarded as an advantage to teamwork effectiveness. The military instilled a deep sense of honor for oneself, appreciation of our everyday freedoms, and an emphasis on attention to detail.
Opportunities included: U.S. Navy Dive School in Panama City, Florida, for Undersea Medical Officer Training; living overseas in Guam with deployments aboard the USS Frank Cable (AS-40), and visiting 20 different Asian countries in 3 years.
What I like best about the military is traveling around the world and comradery between service members.”
Dr. Lombardi is an Emergency Medicine Resident Physician at Kent Hospital in Warwick, RI.
